They share their own, well-tried methods and tools, specifically the resources of Lean, Lean Startup, Scrum, Gemba and Digital product development, showing the actual roles of these tools in business and the good and bad experiences in their daily utilization.

SYLLABUS OF THE TRAINING:

1. EVENT: ADAPTATION IN TURBULENT TIMES, INTRODUCTION TO THE AGILE APPROACH

Is it possible to create profit in times of crisis, or even double it? How can the agile methodologies support you as a leader? By working through practical examples, we look at the answers of methodology, tooling and mindset to everyday classic and novel leadership and business challenges. We consider the story of agility and the basic principles of agile operation mainly through practical examples and case studies.

2. EVENT: CUSTOMER AND PROFIT IN THE CRISIS: THE LEAN APPROACH AND THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE VALUE STREAM

What makes something cheap or expensive? How should we look at our operation with the eyes of the customer? What does the introduction of lean mean to a leader, where is its place and where it isn’t? How can one maximize profit and customer satisfaction in the time of crisis by minimizing losses? How can one try out lean “small-time” and how can one measure the efficiency and business value creation of the methodology easily? We also look at the methodology of loss minimization.

3. EVENT: EFFICIENT TEAM MANAGEMENT IN A CHANGING ENVIRONMENT: SCRUM AND KANBAN

In a continuously changing environment, the clear framework of Scrum can mean security and predictability. If as a team leader you are continually working on team cohesion without enduring results, it might be worth to introduce a framework, which makes the team members change-resistant and satisfied. We learn about the tools of Kanban and Scrum and empowering management by exercises, discussing its limits, and internal and external conditions.

4. EVENT: HOW TO SELECT IDEAS IN THE TIME OF CRISIS? – THE LEAN STARTUP

Scrum, or the lean methodology helps, if the problem you are facing is clear, but you lack the solution. If you do not see the problem, because it is so complex, then the lean startup methodology helps. Which are the good ideas and how to choose among these in crisis? How can we develop them with minimal resources? What other problems can be solved with the Lean startup method, and what kind of results can be expected? We develop an MVP, and we process examples from large firms, where despite the preconceptions (this will not work in our company) the methodology was adopted successfully.

5. EVENT: FIELDWORK 1 - GEMBA

We go on a real gemba-walk; we will be shadowing our lean expert, who looks at specific processes in a real enterprise environment through the glasses of lean, to filter out the losses coming from the process and the mistakes and dangers of the operation, by communicating with the actors of the processes and data analysis. Through the fieldwork we get to know the right management routine and we understand how to look at our operation from the point of view of efficiency.

6. EVENT: FIELDWORK 2 – AGILITY IN PRACTICE

How does an agile company work? What do agile contracts and agile HR mean, and what do the team members of an agile team say about their own operation? Factory visit at Shiwaforce, which is an agile company, participating in an agile ceremony, personally experiencing the practical adoption of agile, where you can question the representatives of teams and roles working with classic agile framework.

7. EVENT: VALIDATION OF THE DIGITAL SOLUTION AND THE AGILE TOOLSET

What does iterative business development mean and what tools should be used for the validation of digital solutions? After processing the practical notions of iterative business development (value offer, validation, consumer habit change, persona, customer-centered, pull product development) we look at the applications of lean startup and design thinking and the mapping of the related agile toolset.

8. EVENT: AGILE PROCESSES AND TECHNOLOGIES

How can one use the modern digital technologies cost-effectively? How can you orient yourself among modern technologies? Which technologies should be adopted, and which shouldn’t? How does the adoption of digital technologies affect agility? We help in orienting yourself among the modern digital technologies, pointing out the cost-effective methods of utilization, and their effect on agility.

9. EVENT: EXAM

Presentation of your own leadership/business challenge, and a business development recommendation using one of the methodologies studied during the training, for which the exam committee gives constructive and practical feedback. E.g.: due to the crisis the value chain broke, a key actor dropped out among the suppliers, but with the help of the lean methodology you suggest setting up a new, more effective value chain, which makes the old actors fully redundant.
